How does the Plantule weighted blanket work? So about the weight of a strong, healthy hug
When you cover yourself with a duvet, your body gets a signal, which then tells the nervous system that it's time to switch to relaxation mode. Thanks to this mechanical process, the duvet puts us in a state of relaxation and regeneration of the whole organism. As a consequence, it allows you to fall asleep faster and feel better after waking up.
The therapeutic weight of the quilt is evenly distributed, and the pressure stimulates deep sensation and affects the autonomic nervous system - it helps to activate the parasympathetic (inhibitory) system, which is responsible for the state of rest and relaxation, and calm down the sympathetic (stimulating) system – responsible for the mobilization of the body.
The deep pressure of the duvet on the body can increase e.g. the level of melatonin (sleep hormone) and serotonin (happiness hormone) - a neurotransmitter responsible for the process of falling asleep and mood control. In addition, it can help lower blood pressure, calm the heart rate and breathing, preparing the body for rest.

The quilt should account for approx. 10-15% of body weight, when ordering a quilt for yourself or a child, pay attention to this. In addition, it should be about 10 cm longer than the body to cover its entire area.
We recommend the following weight options:
- 5 kg - for a person weighing: 40-60 kg
- 6.5 kg - for a person weighing: 55-75 kg
- 8 kg - for a person weighing: 70-90 kg
- 10 kg - for a person weighing 100-120 kg
Can the duvet be washed?
You can wash the Plantule sensory duvet at a temperature of up to 40 ° C, and after washing, dry it in a dryer at a low drying temperature or hang it and dry it flat in a ventilated place until completely dry.
