What is a weighted blanket?

It is also known as a sensory quilt. It is a weighting, therapeutic tool that will allow you to sleep deeper, regenerate more intensively, and simply wrap yourself up and feel safe .

How it works?

Like sensory information for the nervous system ! It is thanks to the evenly distributed weight that your body relaxes and reduces the feeling of anxiety. The pressure also regulates the work of the proprioceptive system (difficult word!), normalizing muscle tension and coordination of muscle work (important in the case of sensory integration disorders and reception of external stimuli). When you lie under our quilt, your calmed nervous system starts self-regulating processes. It lowers the level of cortisol (stress hormone), increases the level of serotonin (happiness hormone) and melatonin (sleep hormone). The heart rate and blood pressure stabilize. Stress subsides, the body calms down , deep sleep appears. When you wake up, you feel deeply relaxed. Isn't that what we need for our tired, stressed bodies?

For whom?

For all those who need to be wrapped, relaxed and weighed down after a long day.

For highly sensitive people, with depression, anxiety, neurosis, post-traumatic stress disorder - to find their safe haven and de-stress.

For people with psychomotor disorders : ADHD, Asperger's syndrome, Down's syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy - to soothe, calm down and stimulate the production of serotonin.

For people struggling with lack of concentration , hyperactivity, problems with falling asleep - for calming the nervous system, calming down and deep sleep.

What weight?

First of all - in terms of individual weight parameters . The quilt should account for about 10% of our body weight . Assuming that we weigh, for example, 60 kg, let's choose a quilt weighing 6.3 kg. If our weight is on the border of two ranges, let's choose a heavier quilt - for example, weighing 69 kg, you can opt for a 7.2 kg quilt.

What filling?

In Plantule we have two fillings: glass balls and cherry pits. The glass beads are tiny (1mm), giving the impression of being filled with sand. Their sound resembles a holiday by the sea - the flowing sand and the sound of water. Due to their thermal properties, they give a feeling of gentle cooling. Cherry pits are an ecological, vegetable filling. Larger than balls (7mm), they rustle pleasantly, additionally relaxing. The sound is similar to the pouring of beads or small pebbles carried by sea waves.

Why flax?

Plantul quilt consists of 4 layers of 100% linen. Linen is natural, hypoallergenic, antibacterial, safe for the skin, protecting and nurturing it. It has high air permeability, so it will be a great companion even on hot nights. In addition, it is easy to care for and ages wonderfully, softening and ennobling.

Can you sleep under it?

Yes you can. One of the uses of the duvet is to calm down and calm our body while sleeping. However, as with most things, the body gets used to the weight. Regularly sleeping under a sensory duvet may slightly reduce the feeling of heaviness.

Can it be washed?

Yes! Both the one with cherry pit filling and glass balls. We wash at 40 degrees Celsius. In the case of cherries, remember to dry the washed duvet thoroughly.

Should I use a pillowcase?

It all depends on you. If you have your beloved bedding - go ahead, it will not negatively affect your feelings. If you prefer linen, with which our duvet is sewn, you can easily wash it if necessary. Linen is not only pleasant to the touch, but also cares for our skin like the greatest cosmetic.

Will I be too cold or too warm?

Our quilt is made of 4 layers of linen. It is a fabric that is gentle on the skin, pleasant to the touch and incredibly absorbent. It can absorb up to 25% of water while remaining dry to the touch. In addition, its breathability means that you have constant access to fresh air. So you can rest assured about summer.

What about winter? What often warms you in a quilt is a layer of air between it and your body. Here the padding adheres directly to the body. Therefore, for the cold, we recommend using two quilts at the same time - a weighted one and a regular one in any arrangement. Then your body will definitely stay warm.
